Meet The Manager

Ray Arnold is Home Manager at The Bridles Care Home.

I joined the Bupa family in early 2024. I’m proud to be the Home Manager here at The Bridles, and I’m really looking forward to getting the home up and running and getting to know people in the local community.

I began as a night care assistant, completed my NVQs, and progressed through senior care, head of care, deputy manager and eventually home manager. Over the years, I’ve managed a variety of homes — from small independents to more complex services needing significant change — and I’ve commissioned five new homes before joining Bupa.

What I love most about working in care is the difference we can make every single day. It’s often the small moments that mean the most. Every resident brings a lifetime of stories, and it’s a privilege to be part of that. Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do, and with almost 20 years in the sector, I bring a wide range of experience (and plenty of lessons learned) to my role.

Activities Are So Important

For laughter, fun and friendship

Life at The Bridles will be filled with moments of joy, connection and purpose. Our Lifestyle & Wellbeing Team takes the time to get to know you personally, so your days are shaped around what helps you feel your best - in mind, body and spirit.

You’ll have the freedom to choose activities based on how you’re feeling. Some days, you might want to take it easy with something gentle and relaxing. On other days, you may feel ready to step it up and enjoy more stimulating sessions that stretch your creativity, skills or energy. There are also plenty of meaningful, hands‑on tasks that keep you engaged and give you the chance to contribute to life around your home in purposeful ways.

If you like being awake a little later, our Night Owls’ sessions offer calm, soothing activities designed to help you unwind and find comfort as the evening settles in. And throughout everything we do, we encourage community connections - bringing you together with visitors, local groups and your neighbours so you can build friendships that brighten your days.

At The Bridles, life is full of the things that matter most — new discoveries, favourite hobbies and genuine moments of togetherness.
