Meet The Manager

Siobhan Mcerlean is Registered Manager at Inclusive Care Options.

Siobhan brings a genuine passion for people that shines through in everything she does. With a background as a nursery practitioner, she's always been drawn to roles where she can nurture and support others — and when she moved into adult social care, she found her true calling.

Siobhan holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, reflecting her commitment to leading with both skill and heart. In her time in homecare, she's built a reputation as the person everyone turns to — whether that's a member of the team needing guidance or a family wanting reassurance that their loved one is in safe hands.

She's warm, kind, and has a huge heart. She's the kind of manager who will always go the extra mile — not because it's in her job description, but because that's simply who she is. Families and staff alike describe her as someone who makes you feel instantly at ease, and that's exactly the tone she sets across everything we do here.

At Inclusive Care Options, we believe everyone deserves care that truly understands them. We go beyond basic support to create environments where individuals with complex needs can thrive with dignity, safety, and genuine compassion.

Nurse-Led Care That Goes Further

We are a nurse-led domiciliary care provider supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments across Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Kensington & Chelsea. Every care plan is developed and overseen by our experienced NMC registered nurses, ensuring that clinical expertise sits behind every aspect of the care we deliver — from personal care and medication management to health monitoring and liaison with GPs and other health professionals.

Being nurse-led means we can spot changes in health early, respond quickly when things aren't right, and give families the reassurance that their loved one's care is being guided by qualified clinical professionals who genuinely care.

Person-Centred Support Across Every Area of Life

Our care is built around the whole person — not just their diagnosis or care needs. We support people with personal care delivered with dignity and respect, meaningful activity planning tailored to individual interests and goals, meal preparation that reflects personal tastes and dietary needs, building independence and everyday living skills, maintaining relationships and community connections, and emotional wellbeing and confidence building.

Expert Behaviour Support When It's Needed

For individuals whose needs include behaviours that challenge, we bring real specialism. Our approach is grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), an evidence-based framework that focuses on understanding the root causes of behaviour rather than simply reacting to it. We use proactive scripting to equip our care workers with clear, personalised strategies so they feel confident and prepared in every situation — leading to fewer crises, fewer restrictive interventions, and genuinely better outcomes. If you've been told your loved one's needs are "too complex," that's exactly where we excel.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Infection Prevention and Control

At Inclusive Care Options, we take a proactive, clinically informed approach to infection prevention and control — and as a nurse-led service, this isn't just a policy we follow, it's embedded in everything we do.

All of our care workers are trained in infection prevention and control as part of their induction, with regular refresher training to ensure best practice is always followed. This includes thorough hand hygiene, correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling and disposal of clinical waste, and understanding how infections spread and how to break the chain of transmission.

Because we deliver care in people's own homes, our approach is tailored to each individual's environment. Our team carries out infection risk assessments as part of every care plan and adapts their practice accordingly — whether that means adjusting how personal care is delivered, managing laundry safely, or supporting food hygiene in the kitchen.

Our Clinical Lead, a registered nurse, oversees our infection control practices and ensures they remain aligned with current national guidance, including UK Health Security Agency standards. Any changes to national guidance are communicated to the team quickly and clearly, so our practice is always up to date.

We also understand that good infection control in homecare goes beyond PPE and hand gel. It means care workers who are confident enough to speak up if they spot a risk, who know when to escalate concerns, and who understand that protecting the people we support also means protecting themselves. Our staff are encouraged to stay home when unwell and are supported to do so — because we will never compromise the safety of the people in our care.

For individuals with complex health needs or weakened immune systems, our nurse-led oversight means we can put enhanced infection control measures in place quickly and confidently, working alongside GPs and specialist teams where needed.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.

The Importance Of Meal Times

At Inclusive Care Options, mealtimes are about far more than just nutrition — they're an opportunity for independence, choice, and enjoyment. Our care workers support each person to plan and prepare meals that reflect their personal tastes, cultural background, dietary needs, and health requirements. Where possible, we encourage the people we support to be actively involved in shopping, choosing recipes, and cooking, because maintaining those everyday skills builds confidence and independence. For those with more complex needs, such as specific dietary plans, texture-modified diets, or nutritional targets set by dietitians or speech and language therapists, our nurse-led team ensures these are followed carefully and consistently. We don't just heat up ready meals — we take the time to make food that people actually look forward to eating.

Activities Are So Important

At Inclusive Care Options, activity planning isn't an afterthought — it's a core part of every care package we deliver. We believe that what someone does between care visits matters just as much as the care itself, and that meaningful engagement is one of the most powerful tools we have for improving quality of life.

Every person we support has an individualised activity plan built around their interests, goals, and abilities — not a generic timetable. Whether it's getting back into a hobby they thought they'd lost, building confidence to visit a local café independently, or simply having someone who genuinely listens and engages with them, we plan activities that have real purpose and real outcomes.

Why does this matter? Because meaningful activity reduces anxiety and distress, supports emotional wellbeing, builds independence and life skills, reduces the likelihood of behaviours that challenge, and gives people something to look forward to. For the individuals we support, particularly those with learning disabilities or complex needs, structured and person-centred activities can be genuinely life-changing.

Our team works closely with each person, their families, and the wider care team to identify what matters most to them — then we make it happen. Activities are regularly reviewed and adapted as interests and goals evolve, because great care isn't static.

As a nurse-led service with a specialism in Positive Behaviour Support, we understand the direct link between meaningful engagement and positive outcomes. When people are stimulated, valued, and involved in things they enjoy, challenging behaviours reduce and quality of life improves. It's not just what we believe — it's what the evidence shows, and it's what we see every day in the people we support.
