Meet The Manager
Sharon Maxwell is Home Manager at Bothwell Castle Care Home.
Sharon is a highly experienced Registered Nurse with 35 years of nursing expertise, 25 of which have been dedicated to the care home sector. She began her career as a staff nurse and steadily progressed into leadership, gaining extensive knowledge and experience along the way. For the past 10 years, Sharon has successfully managed care homes, demonstrating her commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. She is passionate about enhancing the lives of residents and values working in partnership with families, staff, and wider stakeholders to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
Bothwell Castle Care Home is located in Scotland within the picturesque and historic area of South Lanarkshire. Our home is a private, luxurious care facility that offers outstanding lodging, with 75 en-suite bedrooms. Residential Care, as well as Dementia, Nursing and Respite Care, are all provided by our experienced and dedicated team.
Our facility is established on the belief that all residents deserve to live a full and meaningful life; our professional team takes pride in providing a caring and supportive environment in which everyone can live harmoniously.

At the Bothwell Castle Care Home, we have a range of measures in place to promote the safety, security and wellbeing of residents and staff. The home is a secure environment with keypad-controlled access to main entrances, lifts and garden areas, enabling residents to move freely within the home and grounds while maintaining appropriate security. We support residents' wellbeing through meaningful activities and engagement, helping to reduce stress and distress and promote a positive living environment. We also utilise digital care planning and reporting systems to ensure resident information is stored securely, accessed only by authorised individuals, and shared on a need-to-know basis with relevant professionals. Staff receive regular training in key areas including infection prevention and control, safeguarding, moving and handling, health and safety, and emergency procedures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is readily available throughout the home, with staff competency assessed regularly and compliance monitored through routine observations and audits. These measures, alongside our policies, procedures and ongoing quality assurance processes, help us maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, visitors and staff. |

Our thoughtfully designed bedrooms provide comfort and allow residents to add any personal touches that will enhance our homely atmosphere.
