Amanda Oxley is Home Manager at Alexander House Care Home.

Amanda is the Home Manager at our beautiful, purpose-built Alexander House Care Home. Amanda has extensive experience having worked in care for over 20 years and is a Registered Nurse (BA in Professional Practice Nursing (Critical Care)) and has a real passion for care. Her career has taken her from an NHS nurse to a Ward Manager in a prestigious London Hospital as well as five years of nursing on the Channel Island of Guernsey. The past six years of her career have been as a Home Manager in luxury care homes, making sure all of her residents get the highest quality of care, with a committed, kind, and knowledgeable staff group.

Alexander House Care Home is a brand new care home positioned in the quaint suburb of Pinhoe, Exeter. Our care home is a private care facility that provides superior accommodation for 67 residents. Nursing, Residential, Dementia, and Respite Care will be available to those who need it, and carried out by our experienced team.

Our home was built with the intention of providing a pleasant lifestyle for our future residents, with a strong emphasis on group living to build new connections with like-minded people. Our team‘s objective will be to provide a loving and supportive setting in which everyone can thrive. All staff has undergone extensive training to give the best possible care and support to all residents who will be living with us.

All 67 of our pleasantly designed bedrooms feature en-suite wet rooms, modern furnishings, flat-screen televisions, high-speed internet access, and modern call systems, with many rooms featuring balconies and views of the countryside. Residents can bring with them their personal belongings and decorate their bedroom for maximum comfort.

Clinical Lead

Michele joins the team at Alexander House as the Clinical Lead. Michele has been nursing for 31 years, 28 years with the NHS where she has gained great experience in nursing and senior management spanning from Sexual Health to Oncology and Community Services. In 2019 she joined the private sector and has worked as a Director of Care, Clinical lead, and a General Care Home manager. We are delighted to have Michele join us as the lead the clinical care ensuring that we provide outstanding care that our residents deserve.

Sharon is the Home Administrator at Alexander House and will often be the first person you have contact with. Having worked in administration roles for many years in varying sectors, Sharon has a real passion for care and is looking forward to meeting all of our lovely new residents and their families.

Karen has worked in catering for a number of years, initially in hospitality and contract industry before making the move into the care sector 12 years ago. 

Karen takes great pride in the food and dining service that the residents will be able to enjoy at Alexander House and leading the catering team at the home.

Shelly brings over 30 year of experience to her role having worked in housekeeping departments in hotels and more recently in care homes and hospitals since 2016.

Resident Hairdresser and Nail Technician

We are delighted to introduce Amanda Teague from Glitz Hair who has officially joined the Alexander House family as our resident hairdresser and nail technician. Amanda will be visiting the home weekly to ensure that all of our lovely residents have access to her services which will include ladies’ hairdressing, barbering, and nail treatments. It’s the Alexander House way of living; ensuring that all of our residents are looking and feeling they are the very best at all times.
