Meet The Manager

Sonia Norris is Home Manager at Dalton Court Care Home.

Dalton Court is a welcoming and well-established care home set in the historic market town of Cockermouth, just on the edge of the stunning Lake District National Park. Surrounded by scenic views and natural beauty, the home offers a calm and supportive environment for individuals in need of specialist nursing care, dementia support, and end-of-life care.

Designed to provide comfort and promote well-being, Dalton Court offers care for up to 60 adults, with round-the-clock support from a dedicated team that includes registered nurses. The care team takes a person-centred approach, focusing on each individual’s preferences, routines and goals. From long-term stays to flexible respite care, the home offers tailored support to meet changing needs, including palliative and complex care.

Residents at Dalton Court benefit from a home-from-home atmosphere that encourages independence and active living. Whether managing a long-term condition or living with dementia, individuals are supported to maintain their identity, pursue personal interests, and remain connected to their loved ones. The team has expertise in caring for people under 65 with early-onset dementia, providing a responsive and respectful environment where younger adults can feel understood and empowered.

The home itself is warm and inviting, with comfortable communal spaces and panoramic views of the Lake District fells. Residents enjoy a variety of engaging activities designed to stimulate the mind and uplift the spirit, from creative arts to community events and reminiscence sessions. Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
