Zipporah Magana is Manager at Coxwell Hall.

Home Manager Zippy Magana qualified as a nurse in 2000, gaining much of her experience in hospitals, care homes and within the community, bringing versatility and knowledge from many settings.
During her 8-year tenure at Coxwell Hall  prior to her return in 2023, Zippy headed up the project ‘Like a Butterfly’ the results of which, set out much of the practice adopted today in person centred care. She is also qualified to deliver SMI & LD health checks (for people with Severe Mental Illness and Learning Difficulties).
Zippy is the nucleus of the Coxwell family, creating a home full of laughter and warmth, her unique approach and expertise has seen Coxwell flourish. The energy, knowledge and professionalism she injects not only enhances the quality of life for residents, but it is also instrumental in motivating the team, who reflect her dedication, passion and commitment to delivering the highest quality care.

The environment at Coxwell Hall has been carefully designed to support residents living with dementia and complex behavioural needs.

Everything at Coxwell is dedicated to creating a homely, non clinical environment. The home is divided to support individual capabilities and levels of dementia, whilst still maintaining areas where it is easy to socialise, take part in activities, or relax and enjoy peaceful moments. Communal spaces are welcoming and easy to navigate, helping residents feel comfortable and confident within their surroundings. Décor and colour is inviting, with daily sounds from the piano and the smell of baking in a kitchen that is very much the centre of this 'family' home'. 

Every residents room has its own individually designed front door to endorse the 'at home' experience and aid recognition. Bedrooms and shared areas are arranged to support familiarity, routine and independence. Every element of the home aims to reduce anxiety while encouraging engagement and motivation.

Residents maintain their interests and explore new activities, from gardening and baking to creative sessions and time spent outdoors, supported by a culture of emotional intelligence from the highly skilled team who are also trained in self awareness and relationship skills that enable residents to express themselves in the close nit family community.

Coxwell Hall offers 66 comfortable bedrooms across two floors, each designed to create a safe and recognisable personal space.

To support orientation and independence, every bedroom door is individually designed to help residents easily recognise their room. Memory boxes outside each door display meaningful personal items, offering reminders of hobbies, careers and important life experiences.

Inside, rooms are spacious and welcoming, with layouts designed to minimise anxiety and promote comfort. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with familiar furniture, photographs and treasured belongings.

Specialist profiling beds support both comfort and medical needs, helping residents enjoy a restful night’s sleep while maintaining safe mobility.

Nurse call systems are installed throughout the home, including bedrooms and communal areas, ensuring staff are always available to provide assistance whenever required.
