Meet The Manager

Emma Hodges is Manager at Court Regis.

At Court Regis we work to create a welcoming atmosphere in which residents enjoy activities, go on outings and make friends with other residents and staff. At the heart of our home is our Philosophy of Care, the Eden Alternative, where staff encourage social interaction, engagement and work towards the eradication of loneliness and boredom.

24-hour care and support is provided for people living with dementia, where our team of qualified and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of the residents.

Court Regis provides well equipped, bright bedrooms to support person centred care, overlooking the surrounding gardens.

Other facilities include the spacious dining area, where residents can enjoy great meals every day or take part in the many dining events that take place at the home.

Residents can visit the outdoor log cabin for a relaxing drink and a bite to eat with friends and family, or spend some time in the beautiful gardens around the home. Our minibus also gives residents the opportunity for day trips out to one of the many local places of interest.

Court Regis provides a safe, warm and friendly environment with support for daily tasks such as washing, cleaning and laundry.

Court Regis delivers a respite care service allowing a crucial break for carers, for just a few hours or for several weeks. This offers family carers the chance to go on holiday or simply have some well-earned time off.

Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

In December 2020 Avante Care & Support proudly launched their new visitor cabins across all 10 of their care homes across Kent, Bexley and Greenwich, so that residents can meet safely with family members despite the coronavirus outbreak. This has meant families are able to keep in contact with loved ones until actual physical contact is possible once again.

Fitted out with comfortable chairs and decorated with pictures, the cabins will support families to visit loved ones in a safe and welcoming environment. The cabins have separate entrances for the resident and visitor and all furniture and the inside of the structure is thoroughly cleaned after each visit.

When the new visitor cabins opened in December families were keen to make use of the new visiting facility and immediately booked visiting times to see their loved ones. The cabins have been warmly welcomed by everyone and staff have been inundated with positive messages and feedback about the new visiting facilities.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

The Importance Of Meal Times

In the spacious dining area, residents can enjoy great meals every day or take part in the many dining events that take place at the home.

Residents can visit the outdoor log cabin for a relaxing drink and a bite to eat with friends and family

Sharing meal times with others can provide structure to the day and increase the enjoyment of food. The impact of good nutrition on the health of our brains cannot be dismissed; our brains need nutrients to work and remain healthy.  Eating well is vital to maintain the health, independence and wellbeing of people with dementia

The way food is presented and served, the surroundings and the company in which it is eaten all add to the satisfaction and enjoyment of eating a meal. This is equally important for a person with dementia: a good mealtime experience can have a positive impact on their health and sense of wellbeing.

Activities Are So Important

Residents can visit the outdoor log cabin for a relaxing drink and a bite to eat with friends and family, or spend some time in the beautiful gardens around the home. Our minibus also gives residents the opportunity for day trips out to one of the many local places of interest.

Our Philosophy of Care is The Eden Alternative which is based on the core belief that ageing should be a continued stage of development and growth, rather than a period of decline.  In a culture that typically views aging as a period of decline, the Eden Alternative philosophy asserts that no matter how old we are or what challenges we live with, life is about continuing to grow. The Eden Alternative seeks to cure loneliness, not with medication, but by providing residents with companionship and surrounding them with life

Studies show that implementation of the Eden Alternative is a powerful tool for improving quality of life and quality of care for those living in care homes. Also, homes that have adopted Eden as an organisational-wide philosophy have found that there is improved staff satisfaction and retention and significant decreases in use of medication.
