Emma Hodges is Manager at Court Regis.
Emma has worked for the organisation since 1990 starting as a YTS care assistant and working her way up to senior, then deputy and finally Home Manager in 2007. Throughout this time, Emma has won many awards internally from Avante and also externally from National Stars of Social Care Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Care Homes.
At Court Regis we work to create a welcoming atmosphere in which residents enjoy activities, go on outings and make friends with other residents and staff, in a safe, warm and friendly environment with support for daily tasks such as washing, cleaning and laundry.
24-hour care and support is provided for people living with dementia, where our team of qualified and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of the residents.
Court Regis provides well equipped, bright bedrooms to support person centred care, overlooking the surrounding gardens. Other facilities include the spacious dining area, where residents can enjoy great meals every day or take part in the many dining events that take place at the home.
Residents can visit the outdoor cabin for a relaxing drink and a bite to eat with friends and family, or spend some time in the beautiful gardens around the home. Our minibus also gives residents the opportunity for day trips out to one of the many local places of interest.
Court Regis provides a respite care service allowing a crucial break for carers, for just a few hours or for several weeks. This offers family carers the chance to go on holiday or simply have some well-earned time off.
Avante’s Philosophy of Care is The Eden Alternative, which is based on the core belief that ageing should be a continued stage of development and growth, rather than a period of decline. In a culture that typically views aging as a period of decline, the Eden Alternative philosophy asserts that no matter how old we are or what challenges we live with, life is about continuing to grow. The Eden Alternative seeks to cure loneliness, not with medication, but by providing residents with companionship and surrounding them with life. It seeks to cure helplessness by assistance with existing skills and interests; the opportunity to learn new ones and by encouraging residents to feel engaged and useful in their community
