Meet The Manager
Emma O'Connor is Registered Manager at Cleeve Lodge Residential Care Home for the Elderly.
Emma O’Connor is the Registered Manager of Cleeve Lodge and has almost 40 years of experience in adult social care. She leads with warmth, professionalism and a deeply person-centred approach, taking time to understand each resident and the people who are important to them.
In 2026, Emma received the Leadership Award at the Oxfordshire Care Awards in recognition of her leadership. Emma personally supports new enquiries and tours, helping families understand whether Cleeve Lodge is the right home for their loved one.
Cleeve Lodge Residential Care Home for the Elderly is a family-run, boutique home away from home in the heart of Goring-on-Thames. We provide compassionate, highly personal permanent and respite residential care, including residential dementia care, for up to 24 residents.
Choosing a care home for someone you love can be an emotional and sometimes overwhelming decision. At Cleeve Lodge, families are supported with kindness, honesty and understanding from their first conversation with us. Our aim is not simply to provide excellent care, but to help every resident feel safe, valued, comfortable and genuinely at home.
Cleeve Lodge has been rated Outstanding overall by the Care Quality Commission three consecutive times — in 2016, April 2019 and May 2025. We were also named one of Lottie’s Top 100 Care Homes in 2025, while our Registered Manager, Emma O’Connor, received the Leadership Award at the Oxfordshire Care Awards 2026.
Cleeve Lodge has served the local community for nearly 50 years and is one of Oxfordshire’s longest-established care homes. This long history and repeated recognition are a source of enormous pride — an honour we cherish and a responsibility we remain committed to upholding for residents and their families.
Our 24 single-occupancy bedrooms are available with or without an en-suite toilet. The home has two communal wet rooms, two lifts and a stairlift. Private fees are fully all-inclusive and include physiotherapy, hairdressing, podiatry and everyday sundries, subject to the home’s approved fee terms.
Life at Cleeve Lodge is shaped by family, meaningful activity and village connections. Weekly activities include sewing and gardening; residents can choose to help care for our guinea pigs, Brian and Stitch; and vegetables grown in our garden are used in the kitchen where possible. Optional weekly local worship, hymns or reflection are available for residents of all faiths and none, and our community connections include supporting the local cricket club and residents enjoying matches.
Families and friends are welcome to visit at any time, 24 hours a day, subject to residents’ wishes and any temporary safety arrangements. Emma personally supports enquiries and tours. Please contact us to discuss your needs and arrange a personal visit.
