Holmer Manor Care Home was acquired by Zo & Geoff Butcher in January 2019. Together with daughter Hannah and son Michael, both in their mid 30’s, they run a number of other residential homes as a true family business.

Our ethos is centred around the residents, and we see the house as their home, with us being the visitors. We try to encourage as many independent activities and as much self-sufficiency as possible. This allows our residents to remain in control and active with a good quality of life. We wish to provide unrivalled care for every individual in the house and ensure they are happy at all times.

At Holmer Manor, we understand that each of our residents is different. We provide personalised care plans to ensure all individual needs and requirements are met. Each plan is tailored using input from the residents’, their families, assigned key workers, allocated nurses, and the results of regularly reviewed initial assessments. This person-centred service ensures care is delivered accordingly. We have discovered that our personalised and detailed care plans offer peace of mind to the residents themselves and families that may be concerned about the transition into care.

Holmer Manor has a strong relationship with a team of local medical professionals. We work closely with GP’s, Mental Health Nurses and Social Workers to ensure support is accessible at all times for both our residents and their families. We also have strong relationships with practitioners of holistic treatments including aromatherapy and reflexology.

Activities Are So Important

Holmer Manor has a dedicated activity coordinator that runs a variety of activity workshops throughout the day including specialist dementia care activities. Our activity coordinator works closely with our residents to come up with activities that residents will enjoy. Some popular activities include baking, games, arts and crafts, pampering, quizzes and gardening.

Holmer Manor has close relationships with many people who visit our residents regularly to entertain, provide beauty and holistic treatments and to provide loving company. Animals can play a very important part in maximising wellbeing and a very popular visitor is a specialist therapy dog.

Hairdressers, aromatherapists, entertainers and volunteers also visit Holmer Manor on a weekly basis. We encourage each of our residents and their families to join us with any activities and visit whenever is suitable.
