Meet The Manager

Patrick Murphy is Home Manager at Rowan Garth Care Home.

Patrick, a Registered Nurse has had a long career in healthcare. He began as a Healthcare Assistant at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital before completing his nurse training at Liverpool John Moores University.

"My passion for supporting older people led me into the private care sector in the North West, where I progressed from Clinical Lead Nurse to Registered Home Manager.

Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of leading a large, complex nursing home delivering dementia nursing, general nursing, an NHS step-down unit, and dementia residential care. During this time, the service achieved a “Good” rating in all key areas with the CQC and “Excellent” with the local authority.

I’m now proud to be supporting Rowan Garth, with a clear focus on delivering high-quality, person-centred care and achieving the same strong outcomes."

Patrick Murphy

Not far from Liverpool city centre, amidst the beautiful scenery of the peaceful community of Anfield, Rowan Garth is a purpose-built residential nursing home offering a range of both long and short-term residency options.

Our Christian values underpin everything we do in our person-centred approach to healthcare, in which we create custom care plans tailored to each client’s individual needs and wants. We like to see your new residency as the start of an exciting new chapter, and as such, we believe that all care should be designed around a broader family and friends-informed plan, and focused on improving not just longevity of life, but quality of life. We all have a gift to share with the world, and that gift is who we are. Activities Are So Important

At Rowan Garth Care Home in Liverpool, we believe that an active and fulfilling lifestyle plays an important role in residents’ wellbeing. Our dedicated team provides a varied weekly programme of activities designed to keep residents engaged, stimulated and socially connected.

Our activities programme includes talks and demonstrations from members of the local community, themed events within the home, and organised outings and day trips around Southport and the surrounding area. We regularly welcome local entertainers who bring music, singing and performances into the home, creating enjoyable social moments for residents to share together.

Rowan Garth is proud to be part of the Southport community, and maintaining those local connections is very important to us. We are pleased to welcome visits from the Liverpool FC Chaplaincy, who spend time with residents offering companionship, conversation and support. These visits are especially meaningful for residents who have a strong connection with Liverpool FC and the wider Merseyside community.

Alongside organised activities, residents also enjoy the simple pleasures of daily life. This may include relaxing walks in the garden, feeding the birds, gardening, baking or spending time in comfortable communal areas with friends and family.

We understand that every resident is unique, which is why we provide personalised activity plans alongside our regular programme. Residents are encouraged to continue their hobbies and interests, helping them maintain independence, confidence and a sense of identity.

At the same time, we recognise the importance of quiet time and personal space. Residents are always free to relax in their own rooms or peaceful areas of the home whenever they wish, ensuring a balance between social engagement and personal wellbeing.

Rowan Garth Care Home aims to provide a warm, welcoming and supportive environment where residents can enjoy a high quality of life while receiving professional residential care.
