Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

All visitors and health professionals have to take a lateral flow test prior to visiting the home.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

If the home is ever shut due to infection, we offer safe, indoor visiting via specially constructed visiting pods. There is direct access from outdoors which enables visitors to enter an indoor pod area, close the door and sit comfortably to enjoy quality time with their loved ones. The pods are completely enclosed and sanitised after each session, to ensure a safe indoor visiting solution for everyone. We’re making sure that communication is aided too; the pods can offer a microphone and speaker system so that families may share stories and catch up on lost time easily through the protective Perspex dividing screens.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

I focus on ensuring that person-centred care is delivered to support residents, that independence is promoted, and in creating a safe, homely environment for everyone in the home. I offer support and guidance to the staff team, and work closely with external health care professionals and relatives.

Every day at Braywood gardens is different, some can bring challenges, but this enables our staff team to ensure that the best care and support is given to our residents, enhancing both their health, and their well-being.
