Jo Broderick is Manager at Bramble Down Nursing Home.
I began my career in care at 13, helping in the kitchen at my local care home. Although, I was often found chatting with residents and listening to their stories instead! Those early experiences sparked a passion for care that has stayed with me ever since.
I've been a Registered Manager for over 10 years, including the last five with Peninsula Care Homes.
What I love most is building relationships with residents, families and colleagues. At Bramble Down, I'm proud of our welcoming atmosphere and the team who make it such a special place. I believe that when colleagues feel supported, valued and encouraged to grow, residents benefit too.
For me, good care is about knowing each person, respecting their choices and making sure they feel genuinely at home.
If you're considering Bramble Down for yourself or someone you love, please come and meet us. You'll receive a warm welcome, and we'll be happy to answer your questions.
Bramble Down is a welcoming nursing care home in the peaceful village of Denbury, near Newton Abbot, surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside.
Our purpose-built home offers a comfortable and supportive environment where residents can enjoy companionship, independence and the reassurance of having a qualified nurse on duty day and night.
Life at Bramble Down is about much more than the care we provide. We take time to get to know each resident, understanding their life story, interests, routines and the little things that matter to them. Our experienced team works together to help residents continue enjoying life in their own way, whether that's joining in with activities, spending time with friends and family or enjoying a quieter moment.
There's plenty to enjoy at Bramble Down, from cooking, crafts and gardening to music, visiting entertainers and trips into the local community. Residents can also relax in our comfortable lounges or enjoy the courtyard garden, with its fountain and opportunities to appreciate the outdoors.
Our home has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and we encourage residents to personalise their bedrooms with familiar belongings and treasured possessions to help them feel truly at home.
Bramble Down is part of Peninsula Care Homes, an independent, family-owned group of five care homes across Devon. Established in 2002 and wholly family-owned since 2005, we believe each home should have its own character while sharing the same commitment to thoughtful, personalised care.
Our Rich Life approach is about knowing each person, respecting their choices and helping them continue enjoying the relationships, interests and everyday experiences that make life meaningful.
Across Peninsula Care Homes, we believe every voice matters, every choice matters and every day matters.
We'd love you to visit Bramble Down, meet our team and experience the warmth of our home for yourself.
