Rubina Arunagiri is General Manager at Woodlands Care Centre.
I joined Woodlands Care Centre in 2009 as a Unit Manager and gradually progressed through a number of roles, from Clinical lead to Deputy Manager and then eventually in June 2020, I was appointed the General Manager of the home.
I strive to excel at every role I do and seek out ways to improve and boost my professional skills and knowledge. One of those ways was to complete a mentorship course to mentor student nurses.
I’m a very proud mother of two grown up boys. My ethos behind my care is to “strive to make a positive difference to resident’s everyday life experiences and their wellbeing, whilst still delivering excellent clinical care. Everyone is treated as an individual”.
I am also passionate about supporting and developing my team with their clinical skills, values and beliefs and, empowering my team to deliver great clinical care with empathy, compassion and enhance residents lives at Woodlands Care Centre.
Situated in a pleasant residential area, Woodlands Care Centre is purpose-built and carefully designed to support our residents to live happy, fulfilled and comfortable lives.
Located over three floors, our home includes light and airy, open plan lounges/diners as well as spacious en-suite bedrooms, and a variety of communal spaces such as our café and hair salon.
Our landscaped gardens are designed to be a welcoming place for people to relax on one of the patios complete with outdoor furniture, or to enjoy a spot of light gardening in the greenhouse and raised flower beds.

Activities Are So Important |
---|
Supporting our residents to enjoy every day living at Woodlands Care Centre is a key focus for our dedicated team. By getting to know each person, we are able to tailor our activities and events to their likes and dislikes as well as activities they may like to try. No two days are the same here and, alongside our usual daily hobby-based activities, we also like to host events which are a little out of the ordinary. In addition to an array of activities including art therapy, keeping fit with our chair-based exercises, baking, quizzes, movie afternoons and our knit and natter club, we also take great pleasure in welcoming visiting entertainers, schools, nurseries, therapy animals and groups to our home to enjoy spending time with our residents. Our team and residents love regular day trips out in our own minibus to local garden centres, pubs, Hunstanton seaside for fish and chips and ice cream, and local places of interest such as Ely Cathedral. We also enjoy getting dressed up for our themed days throughout the year — complete with themed menus and decorations! |
