What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are following the advise of National and Local authorities including Public Health England and our local Infection Control and Prevention team.

All necessary protective equipment will be supplied and visitors may be asked to complete Lateral Flow tests.

Visits will be by appointment only. The Home's team will inform you about what arrangements are in place to keep you, our residents and team members as safe as possible.

Should there be positive cases of COVID in the Home, then visits will not be permitted.

Team members and residents are being tested as per the latest guidelines.

Many thanks for your patience.

Our Team
Amber Parkinson-Hill
Amber Parkinson-Hill
Deputy Manager

Hi, I'm Amber,

I have been a Registered General Nurse since 1998 and have worked in various roles. I spent ten years working with an inner-city high dependency unit before  becoming a school nursing where I worked closely with children and families to achieve better outcomes. During this time, I was able to gain a Community Public Health qualification therefore I have dual registration as an RGN and Public Health Nurse.

During my time as a school nurse I started working in Nursing Homes, reigniting my passion for caring for elderly residents and ensuring that the care they received is of a high quality and that the latter stages of their life is happy and healthy.

It is very important to me to build and maintain close relationships with residents and families as this enhances the experiences of all concerned. Caring with an honest and open approach is vital in building positive relationships which leads to positive outcomes for the care of residents.

Administrator

Hi, I'm Joanne,

I have been with Harbour Healthcare since January 2019, firstly as an Administration Assistant, until recently when I accepted the role of Home Administrator.

I have a varied background, including working with children and in the beauty industry, as a nail technician.

After having children, I took some time out to care for them until 2014, when I attended college. I studied Business and Administration, and gained an NVQ Level 2, going on to work in a care home, as the Home Administrator, gaining 5 years experience.

I have many tasks within my role as Administrator. I am the first point of access for visitors and team members as they come through the door. I deal with phone calls and email enquiries. I support the recruitment process after interview stage, through to welcoming team members on to their induction. I ensure team members are compliant with training. I deal with the process of payroll and more..

Activities Are So Important

A very active home with opportunities for residents to enjoy trips out and special events and activities, the activity go ‘above and beyond’ the usual activities programme. Most summers, some of our residents enjoyed a holiday with the team in Blackpool!

Currently our activities programme is somewhat restricted due to COVID-19, as we can't enjoy our usual trips out to places of interest and visiting entertainers  can't come into the home but the team have been working even harder to ensure there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to enjoy themselves.

We now have our safe visiting pod so as well as video call, loved ones can visit safely.
