Denise Cleaver is Head of Care at Richmond Villages Witney Care Home.
My name is Denise Cleaver, and I am the Head of Care at Richmond Villages Witney. On the care floor, we care and support people who have a nursing need or are people living with Dementia. I am a qualified nurse R.N.M.H. and have a level 5 registered manager's award as well as a Diploma in management through the Institute of Management.
I have worked in the care field for thirty years, starting as a care assistant and then completing my nursing course. Since that time, I have worked in Management for charities, the NHS or in private nursing homes.
Person centred care is at the heart of what I believe, and I enjoy working with teams and colleagues and families to ensure that each person we support is at the heart of what we do, I am proud that the nursing homes I have supported in the past who had improved in quality to obtain good ratings with CQC, and gained positive reputations in their communities.
At Richmond Villages Witney, we offer nursing and residential dementia care to our residents. Our Village Care Home is bright and beautifully presented with professionally designed interiors.
Corridors and communal areas are wide and spacious making this an easy space to navigate and walk through. It’s lovely place to reside and spend time as a family member or guest. The home has two wings: Mulberry where we support residents living with dementia, and Willow for the frail and elderly where we can provide 24/7 nursing care.
We are more than just a care home in that the surrounding facilities of the villages are accessible to our care home residents, including the tranquil, heated pool that features a comfortable hoist. Our fitness professionals regularly visit the care home to ensure residents can participate in innovative exercise such as seated yoga and mobility-building tai chi.
