Meet The Manager

Ana Maria Mitu is Manager at Princess Christian Care Home.

With over 18 years of experience in nursing, clinical leadership, and Care Home management, I feel incredibly honoured to lead such a well-established and respected Home.

Princess Christian is a very special place. It has strong foundations, wonderful residents, supportive families, and a team that cares deeply about delivering high-quality care.

Throughout my career, I have always been passionate about providing safe, compassionate, person-centred nursing care. Clinical excellence has always been at the heart of my practice, and I firmly believe that strong leadership, teamwork, continuous learning and kindness form its foundations. I am committed to using my clinical knowledge, management experience and leadership skills to support our team in continually improving our standards.

Ana Maria Mitu

A modern 92 bed Home, Princess Christian is comprised of three specialist units (Bisley, Pirbright and Knaphill), each with their own separate facilities, lounges and kitchens and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities. We also have an in-house hair salon. Our bright and spacious lounges overlook the courtyard and gardens and provide the perfect setting for relaxing, taking part in activities or simply spending time with family and friends who are welcome to visit at any time.

It’s important for our residents to feel welcome and relaxed and we always encourage residents and families to personalise their rooms by bringing belongings, photos, ornaments and anything that will help create a familiar, home-from-home environment. Our Housekeeping and Maintenance teams are also always on hand to add those all-important special touches.

Surrounded by countryside, our gardens and outdoor seating areas provide a tranquil spot for enjoying some al fresco dining, feeding the chickens or tending to the flowers and vegetables grown by the green-fingered members of our Gardening Club.

We have our very own full time Chartered Physiotherapist; Leo Mathew offers a range of specialised Physiotherapy services which can really benefit a person’s ability to live an active, healthy lifestyle. Click here to read more about Leo. We also work with local medical officers, GPs, dentists, chiropodists, speech therapists, opticians and other health professionals to cater for every care need.

Activities Are So Important

Each day we offer a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, games and clubs and we welcome a range of singers, musicians, Pet Therapy groups and professional entertainers. For those who wish to join in, we also hold church services twice a month with our own choir.

Our minibus is always on hand for trips to the theatre, garden centres, walks along the river or coffee and cake at the local tea-room. Guilford Cathedral is near-by for taking in classical music performances, and in good weather we travel further afield for days at the seaside.

We love to celebrate special occasions and make sure our residents are the centre of attention – birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter, Summer Fetes and everything in between! With themed events throughout the year, we love to open our doors to family and friends and share these special times.

We also take part in regular competitions and activities with our sister Homes. We like to think of it as ‘healthy competition’ but always aim to win! From ‘Sports Day’ to ‘Nellsar In Bloom’ there is always something fun and exciting to join in with.
