At Plymbridge House, keeping residents, visitors and staff safe is an important part of everyday life. We follow current infection prevention and control guidance, with established procedures for cleaning, hygiene and managing infection risks.

Our team receives regular training and takes appropriate precautions when needed, while recognising how important visits from family and friends are to residents' wellbeing.

We aim to maintain a safe, welcoming home where residents can continue enjoying everyday life and spending time with the people who matter to them.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Plymbridge House is a characterful former vicarage with a choice of comfortable communal spaces where residents can enjoy company, take part in activities or find somewhere peaceful to relax.

Our quiet lounge is a lovely spot for reading, puzzles or simply enjoying a little time to yourself, while the television lounge is a popular place for quizzes, discussion groups and other shared activities.

The bright and airy conservatory is another favourite space, ideal for painting, knitting and other hobbies, as well as welcoming entertainers and visitors.

Our spacious dining room provides a welcoming setting for meals, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy good food and conversation together.

The garden is an important part of everyday life at Plymbridge and is enjoyed regularly by residents. Whether spending time outdoors, chatting with friends and family or simply relaxing in the fresh air, it offers another lovely place to enjoy the day.

With a variety of spaces to choose from, residents can find the setting that suits them, whether they prefer being part of a lively gathering or enjoying a quieter moment.

Plymbridge House offers a variety of bedrooms, from larger, more spacious rooms to smaller, cosy spaces. Some are located within the original vicarage, with others in the home's later extensions, giving each part of the building its own character.

Many bedrooms enjoy lovely views across our gardens, and a number have their own en-suite WC and hand basin.

We encourage residents to personalise their bedrooms with photographs, pictures, ornaments and treasured belongings, creating a comfortable, familiar space that reflects their personality and interests.

Bedrooms are equipped with profiling beds to support residents' comfort and individual care needs, along with call bells so they can request assistance when needed.

Our communal bathrooms offer specialist baths and showers designed to support residents with different mobility and care needs.

Above all, we want every resident to have a bedroom where they feel comfortable, settled and truly at home.

There's always something to enjoy at Plymbridge House, whether residents love joining in with activities, spending time with friends or enjoying their own favourite pastimes.

Our activity coordinators organise a varied programme, including arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, games and opportunities to try something new.

Music is a particular favourite at Plymbridge. We regularly welcome visiting musicians, and afternoons of entertainment often turn into wonderful singalongs. Music also features in our exercise sessions, with familiar songs encouraging residents to move, join in and have fun at their own pace.

But life at Plymbridge is about much more than organised activities. We take time to understand each resident's interests, routines and life story, helping them continue enjoying the things that matter to them. This might be spending time in the garden, enjoying a favourite hobby, sharing memories or simply having a chat over a cup of tea.

Family and friends are an important part of life at Plymbridge, and we welcome opportunities for residents to spend time with the people who matter to them.

Whether someone enjoys a lively afternoon of music or prefers a peaceful moment in the conservatory, we want everyone to feel included, valued and able to enjoy life in their own way.

We know how important animals and pets can be to residents, and we welcome visits from well-behaved family pets by arrangement.

We also regularly organise visits from animals, including Pet a Pat, whose therapy dog visits the home. These visits are a lovely opportunity for residents to enjoy the companionship and affection of animals.

Unfortunately, we're not usually able to accommodate pets living permanently at Plymbridge House, as we need to consider the needs, comfort and wishes of everyone who shares the home.
