Meet The Manager

Donna Selway is Manager at Parkland House.

Embarking on a career in the care sector has been one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences of my life. I am proud of what I have achieved in the last 32 years, starting from the beginning as a care assistant to becoming a registered manager. This journey has been filled with numerous challenges, learning opportunities, and the profound joy of making a difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and individuals in elderly care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role as a registered manager is the opportunity to mentor and support other care assistants. I strive to create a culture of continuous learning and professional development, encouraging my team to pursue their own career aspirations within the care sector. Witnessing their growth and success brings me immense pride and satisfaction.

Parkland House is an Outstanding-rated care home located in an elevated position on the western outskirts of Exeter. With stunning countryside views and a warm, welcoming environment, we provide high-quality residential and dementia care for up to 52 residents.

Spacious and thoughtfully designed, Parkland House offers a unique blend of independence, comfort, and support. Whether relaxing in one of our quiet lounges, enjoying the lively main room with its cathedral ceiling and bar, or spending time in the gardens, residents are supported to live well every day.

We believe care should be about more than meeting physical needs — it’s about enjoying life, feeling connected, and being treated with respect.

Opportunities to socialise or relax across a variety of communal spaces
