Meet The Manager

Rosalind Mbaki is Care Home Manager at Meadows House Residential and Nursing Home.

Meadows House is a beautiful care home in Greenwich, surrounded by attractive Georgian and Victorian residential homes in a quiet spot of London.

A stone’s throw from shops and restaurants, our care home is a 10-minute walk from Kidbrooke train station, providing direct access to the centre of London and its popular attractions.

Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential care, dementia care, nursing care, day care and respite care.

Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges, light and airy dining rooms and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.

Meadows House also features a hairdressing salon, beautiful enclosed gardens and a sensory room.

However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Meadows House a true home from home.

We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.

We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at Meadows House.

Our Building and Facilities

We have several lounge areas for our residents to use as they wish, whether taking part in activities, catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.

Our care home also features a sensory room, complete with soft lighting and tactile furnishings for a multi-sensory experience.

The dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.

We have also created our own pub, with a traditional bar and optics, which is a popular spot for residents to socialise over a game of dominoes or cards.

The care home has beautiful gardens with sensory planting and raised flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening. They include seating areas for residents to relax and admire the wonderful surroundings in the summer months.

Description

We pride ourselves on caring for our residents as though they were members of our own family. With this in mind our residential care homes are designed with all the usual comforts you would expect from home, creating a relaxing atmosphere with features such as cosy fireplaces and personalised bedrooms.

In partnership with our residents and their loved ones we create a bespoke care plan to build a picture of not only their health and wellbeing needs, but their emotional needs and who they are as an individual.

We tailor care and support to residents’ personal needs, so whether it’s something as simple as knowing they like a little extra sugar in their tea, to helping someone to rekindle a much-loved past time; we are there to help them to live life to the full.

The Importance Of Meal Times

Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked meals, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.

Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.

Lunch and dinner times see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and a hearty casserole.

There is also an array of snacks and refreshments available throughout the day for residents and their loved ones if they get a bit peckish.

Activities Are So Important

We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.

We have a hairdressing salon and our residents also enjoy being pampered with manicures and hand massages.

Regular activities on offer include everything from sensory activities, light exercise sessions, arts and crafts, bingo, table-top games and live music entertainment.

Our residents also enjoy playing cards and dominoes in the traditional pub we have created at Meadows House, as well as regular visits from local school children, scouts and church groups.
