Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

This large and elegant purpose-built home was designed with generous rooms and wide corridors to give a spacious and airy feel, ensuring your comfort and ease of movement throughout. From the moment you enter the welcoming reception area, you get a sense of the quality of life you can expect in this home.

There are 76 en-suite rooms spread over three floors. Our nursing care residents are on the ground floor, where those who are more mobile can get around easily from their own room to the dining room and lounge.

The first and second floors provide specialist dementia care facilities for those who are experiencing very severe symptoms and find day-to-day life particularly challenging. There are additional security facilities to ensure their safety.

Each floor also has a dining room and lounge for meals, group activities or socialising, attended by its own team of nursing and care staff. They are on hand 24/7, supported by dedicated teams of chefs, activities, cleaning and housekeeping staff. There is full lift access and wifi is available throughout the building.

Activities Are So Important

We have an active social life in our home with plenty of opportunities to make new friends and participate in a variety of interesting activities and day trips.

This is important because an active life can help to keep you more alert, mobile and happier, with better health and wellbeing overall.

Our activities co-ordinators create a monthly programme of activities - from entertainments, such as visiting singers and film matinees, to painting and crafts, baking, gardening, quizzes and yoga. If your preferred hobby isn’t on the list, we can help you to continue with it. Even if you find moving about difficult, it is still important to get as much exercise as possible, so we also organise gentle exercise sessions, to help keep you mobile.

Family and friends are welcome to join in with activities, and we also organise special events (like our annual summer fête, for example) to which we invite your family, friends and local community groups. If you like to get out and about, we can arrange for someone to go shopping with you and the activities team also arranges group trips and meals out.

Or it might be that you simply want to read, watch TV or listen to the radio in the quiet of your own room. Or someone to sit with you and read the paper, talk about things that are important to you, or help you keep in touch with your loved ones via post, email or Skype.
