Meet The Manager

Jan Cresdee is The Home Manager at Greenbanks Care Home.

Jan Cresdee is currently both the Registered Manager for Greenbanks and the area manager for the group. She has over 30 years experience in adult social care and has managed larger nursing home operations as well as smaller homes. Jan is a passionate believer in setting care standards in line with what she would expect for her mother. Since taking the helm at Greenbanks, she has modernised the care plan system and brought renewed vigour to the care team.

Greenbanks Care Home sits in the heart of Liphook village. With 25 bedrooms, Greenbanks has the benefit of lovely familial setting, which is how we believe people prefer to be cared for. For us, care is more than just helping our residents in their daily routines. It is about engagement. This means our aim is for our residents to have meaningful and fun days. Engaging with the local community is incredibly important to us and Greenbanks is a notable part of the local Liphook community. Greenbanks benefits from latest technology in care plans and infrared sensor call bells should residents need assistance.

While Greenbanks is a care home, Greenbanks’ approach is that care homes don’t need to look like care homes. As we all like soft colours, comfortable bedding and designer lighting in our own homes, there should be no reason why a care home cannot have the same without looking like a hotel!

The Importance Of Meal Times

Our approach to food isn’t rocket science. Nutrition is a key aspect of health and well-being to both the young and the old. It provides strength, improved concentration, and the ability to maintain independence. Food is also a source of joy to many. Mealtimes mean different things to different people. If you loved cooking, you might not want to always have food prepared for you. If you’ve had a lifelong aversion to beetroot you certainly don’t want to have to consider it now! At Kindred Care we will always adapt our nutritional approach to meet the needs of our residents.

Our chefs create delicious and varied daily menus using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Afternoon teas, celebratory dinners, homemade birthday cakes, monthly pizza nights, and the occasional fish and chip supper, all add to the pleasure of eating well together.

We encourage our residents to get involved in planning meals, baking and helping with laying the tables if they wish, and we welcome family members to join us for meals. For us, food really is at the heart of the home.

A balanced, nutritious diet is essential to maintaining health and wellbeing, our carers can prepare all types of meals for our clients, taking likes and dislikes into consideration.

Activities Are So Important

We believe that being an active part of a supportive community is hugely important to living well in later life. We encourage residents to be involved in daily life at the home and in the wider local community; helping with mealtimes, suggesting shared activities or planning outings, are all ways in which residents contribute.
