Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Jo has personally recruited every member of her loving and caring team and she selected them for their nature, their personality and their desire to really care for and support their residents.  We believe that our residents are central to the running of the home and are involved in all of the important decisions about how the home is managed.

We feel, as guests in our residents’ home, we should support them to decide how they wish to live their lives so we have various committees, meetings and groups that decide on menus, activity plans, refurbishment plans and all other key changes we make.  Our residents even support the home manager with recruitment by sitting in on interviews for new staff.

Hi, my name is Bethany and I am Home Manager of Gloucester House.

I am passionate about the Eden Alternative philosophy of care. This approach is creating a culture that is inclusive, caring and fun for our residents, their families & friends and our staff team to live, visit and work in.

Registered Nurse

I’ve worked in elderly care all my life, what I enjoy most about working here is the team spirit between the staff which creates a lovely safe and happy for all our residents. The training me and my colleagues receive really helps us enhance our skills as a Nurse allowing us to do the complex care. My life outside of work includes lots of walks with my cocker spaniels and swimming regularly.

Senior Carer

I have had the pleasure of working here for 25 years and what I love best is looking after our residents and the enjoyment I get seeing smiles on happy residents faces. When I’m away from work I like sewing, knitting, DIY and gardening.

Chef Manager

I have always been passionate about cooking and have enjoyed over 25 of years working in the home. I have a great team of catering staff and like nothing more than chatting with our residents about what foods they enjoy best. I met my wife Tania who also works at Gloucester House and when we are not at work we love spending family time with our son Ewan.

Maintenance Manager

I have joined Gloucester House team in 2020. I am really enjoying the different jobs included in the role. I am around the buildings 5 days a week doing all the jobs needing to be done. When I am not at work I enjoy fishing and football in which I help train my daughter’s team a few times a month.

Activities Coordinator

I have had the privilege of working as the Activity Coordinator for over 10 years. What I love about working here is creating meaningful activities and happy memories for all the residents. When I’m not at work I enjoy arts and crafts.
