Karen Davis is Manager at Ty Penrhos.

Karen has over 33 years of experience working for the NHS in clinical and managerial roles. She has gained vast experience working in the social care sector as a clinical nurse manager and deputy manager and has Diploma in Palliative Care and Management.

Karen has worked at Ty Penrhos Care Home since February 2016, she is registered with both the Nursing & Midwifery Council and Social Care Wales. Karen was made Home Manager in May 2022.

The team at Ty Penrhos is committed to providing a high standard of quality care treating all residents as individuals with compassion, empathy and love, treating them as if they were family.

Tŷ Penrhos Care Home is a modern care home for over 18s in a central community location in Caerphilly, South Wales. We focus on giving a great quality of life to our residents, whatever their abilities and needs.

Our specially trained team are on hand day and night to provide tailored care to our residents, including residential care and specialist care for those living with physical disabilities, mental disabilities and dementia.

We pride ourselves on providing a happy, friendly and warm environment that lets residents be as independent or involved as they choose to be.

Description

Tŷ Penrhos provides en-suite accommodation for 83 people across five areas/communities, which support orientation with careful consideration for colour, light and furnishing.

All bedrooms at Tŷ Penrhos exceed minimum space requirements and are equipped with an en-suite walk-in shower room with toilet and basin. Every effort has been made to incorporate the concept of dignity, privacy and choice into the community. All bedrooms are fitted with telephone points, Wi-fi access and TV units.

We encourage our residents to make friends, have interesting conversations and enjoy group pursuits. The full activities programme is enjoyed by both residents and their families, featuring one-to-one options and social choices.

Residents can choose to take part in something everyday so that there is little chance of becoming bored. Regular activities include games, shows, sing-alongs, church services, gardening, craft-making, quizzes, shopping trips, beach and countryside excursions and visits to local attractions. There’s also an on-site hairdresser if you fancy a spruce-up.
