Lesley Sturgeon is Registered Manager at The Burren.
Lesley is a highly experienced Registered Mental Health nurse, having worked extensively across the NHS and private sector. Lesley has held senior leadership positions across various organisations and strongly believes in creating a home that prioritises the people in our care while recognising the vital role of her team.
Lesley is supported by a Clinical Manager and a supporting clinical and care team.
The Burren is our new, purpose-built specialist care home in Bristol. It provides specialist care for adults of all ages with complex neurological, physical and mental health conditions.
The home has self-contained Suites that have been specifically designed using our experience of caring for people with complex physical and neurological conditions, focusing on maximising independence and enriching the lives of our residents.
Each Suite is managed by a Senior Nurse who leads a team of nurses and care workers. The teams are supported by our Clinical Manager, an experienced senior nurse, and our General Manager, a highly skilled nurse, meaning our clinician-to-resident ratio is high.
Our high staff-to-resident ratio ensures that the most complex needs are readily met.
Following assessment, our residents are allocated rooms in the Suite best suited to their needs so that the team can safely manage their care and well-being.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
