Clare Hedge is Home Manager at Eggleton House.
I have over 31 years’ experience working in care homes, including 24 years as a Home Manager. I hold the NVQ Registered Manager Award and am a qualified Dementia Care Mapper and Trainer, as well as an NVQ Assessor. During my career, I have also commissioned six care homes.
I joined Care UK after learning that Eggleton House was being built. I was keen to apply because of Care UK’s strong reputation, with more homes rated ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ by the CQC than any other provider in the UK.
The most important part of my role is creating a home that residents and families trust, while maintaining high standards and professionalism. I feel proud when I see residents happy and fulfilled, and colleagues feeling supported and can grow in their career.
Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, pilates, swimming, motor racing, travelling with my family and long walks with my two cockapoos.
Eggleton House, Care UK’s newest care home, opens in summer 2026 and will provide person-centred care in luxurious surroundings. The Tring home will deliver permanent and respite residential care, as well as expert dementia care.
Each of the 72 bedrooms will be tastefully furnished and will have its own en-suite wet room. The ground floor rooms will have direct access to beautifully landscaped, secure gardens. The home will also have a cafe, cinema room and a hair and beauty salon, as well as extensive gardens.
The dedicated team will be committed to supporting residents live every day to the full. They will take the time to get to know each resident and compile a personalised care plan, designed to their unique needs and preferences.
