Meet The Manager

Miriam Blyth is Manager at Driftwood House.

Miriam Blyth is the Registered Manager of Driftwood House, a qualified healthcare educator with a Health and Social Care Certificate and over 20 years experience in complex care, specialising in dementia and neurological conditions.

Holding a postgraduate diploma in Human Biology and a master’s degree s degree in Dementia Studies, she is committed to delivering safe, person centred care that exceeds CQC standards while empowering staff and enriching resident’s quality of life.

Outside of work, Miriam enjoys coastal walks, the fine arts and theatre.

At Driftwood House, we believe a care home should feel like a true home — warm, welcoming, and full of joy. Located in the much-loved seaside resort of Hunstanton, our home offers comfort, companionship, and compassionate care in a setting that’s as bright and uplifting as the town itself.

Our specialisms include dementia care and supporting residents with complex needs, but we know that every individual is unique. That’s why we carry out a thorough assessment before anyone moves in, taking the time to understand their personal preferences, health needs, and routines. This way, we can provide care that’s not only safe and effective, but also deeply personal and respectful.

Life at Driftwood House is varied and engaging. Whether it’s enjoying gentle walks along the promenade, taking part in craft sessions, or joining in with musical afternoons, there’s always something to brighten the day. We also welcome regular visits from hairdressers, chiropodists, and other professionals, ensuring our residents feel cared for and well looked after. We have full support of the local district nursing team, expert medical care is always close at hand.

While Driftwood House has a homely, seaside charm, we also embrace innovative approaches to care. Our use of digital care plans ensures support is always tailored to each individual, giving families confidence that their loved one’s needs are understood and met with the highest standards.

Hunstanton, known affectionately as “Sunny Hunny”, enjoys the unusual distinction of being an east coast resort that faces west. This means our residents are treated to more sunshine than most seaside towns, along with some of the most beautiful sunsets Norfolk has to offer. From the fresh sea air to the vibrant local community, Driftwood House is perfectly placed for those who want a home that blends relaxation with plenty of life and colour.

Whether you’re seeking day care, respite breaks, holiday stays, or a permanent home, Driftwood House offers a safe, supportive, and cheerful environment — one where every day can be enjoyed to the full.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

The safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is always our highest priority. We follow the latest government guidelines to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control at all times.

Our home benefits from advanced cleaning technology, including fogging machines that cleanse the air and soft furnishings as well as surfaces — helping to provide a safer, healthier environment. Rigorous cleaning routines are carried out daily, with weekly and monthly audits to ensure our standards remain consistently high.

Every member of our team is fully trained in infection control procedures, so you can feel confident that your loved one is cared for in a clean, well-maintained, and protected setting.
