What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Aegis Residential Care Home is working within the government guidelines to help protect its staff and clients.

Follow all policy and procedures. A robust induction programme for the staff with ongoing training. A continuous supply of PPE including effective products from a reputable supplier. Ensuring compliance with all aspects of infection prevention and control to meet with the annual inspection from the local authority.

The home conducts their own in house audits including hand washing techniques. In the event of an outbreak working closely with Public Health England and Kirklees Council IPC, closing the home to essential only visitors. Isolation of residents when appropriate with risk assessments in place for those where isolation is not possible. There is an effective extra cleaning regime in place to minimise the spread of infection. There is a contractor that removes clinical waste on a regular basis.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
