Dovecote is working within the government guidelines to help protect its staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

Here at our care home in High Spen, Gateshead, we're very much part of our local community. With our own minibus, residents can enjoy trips out and about.

Many of our residents played golf when they were younger. We enjoy trips to the nearby golf club. The club also hosts special social events for local seniors.

There are visits to St James' Park - home of the beloved Newcastle United FC. We've had many residents who were regular match-goers before they moved into our care home in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. The club has a dementia café, which we attend, and often treats our residents to their own private box for games!

We have close links with the local forestry commission, which organises gentle nature walks and outdoor seated exercise sessions for our residents. Outings to the beaches at South Shields and Blythe are always popular, as are trips to the local villages of Highfield and Chopwell.
