Carol Slater is Home Manager at Cromwell House Care Home.
I have been a qualified nurse since 1996, beginning my career in the NHS, where I gained valuable experience in Trauma Orthopaedics before transitioning to the Emergency Assessment Unit.
In 2010, I moved into the social care sector as a Home Manager, where I have had the privilege of managing a variety of services, including multi-site operations.
Since joining Abbey Healthcare in 2018, I have held roles as both a Home Manager and a member of the Operations Team, focusing on Quality and Compliance.
I am deeply passionate about maintaining the highest standards of care and ensuring that resident choice is always respected. I take pride in supporting and upskilling my team, empowering them to deliver exceptional care. Above all, I am committed to helping residents enjoy life to the fullest and creating an environment where they feel valued and fulfilled.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
