Maria Angehelide is Home Manager at Cliftonville Care Home.
"As Home Manager, I fully understand how difficult the transition into new surroundings can be. My highly qualified team and I are committed to fully supporting you and your family throughout this journey and always.
I am passionate about our residents being safe, making them happy, and enabling them to lead fully enriched lives whilst always receiving the highest quality of care.
One thing that I feel is really important is offering residents a lot of personal choice, and as Cliftonville Care home is their home, they have the right to choose what goes on here. I am hands-on in my role, I like to spend as much time as possible with the people that we care for and I also really enjoy getting to know our residents' families and provide them with support when they need it."
Our residential care home in Northampton welcomes you to come and meet our friendly home manager and the wider team for a cup of tea and to learn more about the excellent facilities we offer. At our home, we warmly welcome couples or companions who want to continue their care journey together. Come and chat to us in one of our safe visiting rooms or garden area, or call us and we’ll be happy to talk you through the various facilities in the home and discuss your specific care needs.
Our Proud Cliftonville Care Home
Our Northampton care home, Cliftonville, is renowned for its friendly and vibrant community of care for the elderly. Our state of the art, purpose-designed building offers the perfect environment for our residents, where they can expect the best quality residential, dementia, nursing and respite care in Northamptonshire.
We choose our friendly, approachable staff for their warmth and empathy as well as for their professional excellence, so friends and families can rest assured that their loved one is being well cared for at Cliftonville Care Home. The atmosphere is both relaxing and sociable, with plenty of opportunities to get together with other residents, or go somewhere quiet if preferred.
Our cinema room is well used for afternoon matinées, and there are plenty of opportunities to reminisce, especially for our dementia residents. There is also a fully equipped beauty salon and therapy room for those who like a bit of pampering – and who doesn’t?
Our stylish bedrooms are generously sized, and all come with walk-in showers. The housekeepers look after the rooms beautifully and carefully dust photos and keepsakes that residents like to put on display to ensure they feel at home. We make great use of mementoes and memories in our approach to dementia care and like to involve friends and relations as much as possible. Our doors are always open!

Avery Healthcare has always made the health and safety of our residents and staff a priority, and the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to raise our exacting standards to even higher levels. That is why we are taking the innovative step to introduce a cleaning system into our care homes that is already proven to kill 99.9% of viruses, including MRSA, e-Coli, norovirus and the SARS virus (which is similar to Cov-2, which causes Covid-19).

| Activities Are So Important |
|---|
|
No, we’re not talking about cocktails, it’s what some of our residents call the Activity Coordinators, as they are quite distinctive in their pink uniform. These ladies initiate, foster and encourage the home’s lively leisure schedule. You would expect knitting and gardening to be on the list, as they are, but here are a few things you might not have anticipated:
We have a large screen in our cinema room and matinée afternoons are always popular. We often think back to the occasion when a resident could join in with her granddaughter’s wedding in Australia, by watching the whole event, together with a commentary, on the big screen TV. A magical moment, and shows how modern technology is put to best use. We are really keen to facilitate Skype links, but we also have real links, rather than virtual, with the local community and enjoy performances from local Northampton schools, entertainment groups and Age UK, who arrange classical recitals for us. |
