Sue Smith is The Registered Manager at Cherry Wood Grange Care Home.
Our kind and caring home manager Sue has worked in health and social care for almost 30 years and has a wealth of experience in strategic and operational roles. Sue spent much of her career at Runwood Homes, where, as their Regional Care Director, she commissioned and established new homes for the care group.
A natural leader, Sue enjoys leading and supporting her team and strives for excellence in delivering compassionate care.
During her career, Sue has been Regional Care Director for Runwood as well as ran three large care homes for older people, consistently achieving improved Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings.
Speaking about her role at Cherry Wood Grange, Sue said: “I’m proud to lead our wonderful, skilled and caring team. Our focus is on providing consistent, high-quality, care tailored to individual needs. Nothing makes me happier than seeing our resident’s enjoying life with us and the reassurance that this gives our families.”
When it comes to delivering exceptional care with love and a deep sense of compassion, the amazing people who form our Cherry Wood Grange team, in Chelmsford, are everything.
Here at Cherry Wood Grange Care Home, our expert team will care for your precious loved one with the same tenderness and kindness shown to our own family members.
Through a reassuring touch of the hand or a light embrace, we provide comfort and a sense of safety day and night, caring for our cherished residents whilst giving gentle encouragement to build confidence and independence wherever possible.
To our long-standing team, these things are second nature, assisted by our detailed knowledge of each person we care for and underpinned by our strong caring values.
Residents enjoy meaningful activities to suit all interests and abilities; from art lessons, to choir practice, mindfulness classes, pet therapy and live music performances. As well as regular outings to local places of interest on the minibus and connections with the local community, including our make a wish initiative.
And, with soothing lighting and aromatherapy, relaxing hand massages, and sound therapy, our home's lounge and bedrooms become a daily oasis of calm, during multi-sensory Namaste Care sessions.
Our luxurious home supports residents and families to spend quality time together, whether sipping a cappuccino in the bustling bistro, hosting a celebration in the private dining room, or relaxing in the beautiful landscaped gardens.
Our team was a finalist in the Essex Care Awards 2023, having won the Activities and Wellbeing Award in 2022. Families know their loved ones are being cared for by a trusted and reputable team, who work together with our residents’ best interests at heart.
