Cheryl Waters is Home Manager at The Old Rectory Residential Home.
I’ve been part of The Old Rectory team for over five years. I began my journey as a care assistant and have since advanced to the role of manager. My passion is the heart of my work, guiding my commitment to preserve the warmth, happiness, and fun that makes The Old Rectory a homely haven for our residents.
I stand firm in my promise to maintain this standard by delivering person-centred care that respects each resident’s uniqueness, actively involving their families, friends, and the residents themselves in every aspect of life here.
The Old Rectory provides companionship and safety in a delightful home.
Staff care for the elderly and ensure residents' privacy, dignity and comfort is maintained at all times.
Each staff member aims to make life as enjoyable as possible and therefore the care needs of each resident is tailored to suit.
The care home encourages residents to play an active role in the way the home is run and family and friends are always welcome to visit.
Residents can be accepted privately or through state funding.
The Old Rectory is an extended Victorian-built property with a large garden and patios. Set in the village of Dymchurch in Kent, the care home is within walking distance of the village and the famous ‘Golden Sands’.
The village is twinned with the French Town of Salbris, in which many social events are held both in the village and in France. Celebrations in the village include the famous ‘Day of Syn’, where the locals gather and re-enact scenes from the novels of Russell Thorndyke.
