Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Cedar Court Care Home maintains a robust safety framework that protects both residents and staff.

Safeguarding procedures are well established, with staff trained to recognise and report concerns promptly.

All incidents, accidents, and near misses are documented, investigated, and used for continuous learning.

Medication safety is upheld through accurate MAR records, strict administration protocols, and ongoing competency checks.

Recruitment processes ensure thorough vetting, while staffing levels are monitored daily to maintain safe care.

Infection prevention measures, recognised by the CQC, include enhanced hygiene practices, PPE use, and regular cleaning routines.

The environment promotes safety through dementia friendly design, clear signage, accessible facilities, and secure outdoor spaces.

Quality is monitored through audits, policy reviews, and senior oversight.

Each resident has a key worker for personalised risk management and early identification of health changes.

Wellbeing is further supported through activities, one-to-one engagement, and a positive, well-trained staff culture.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

Witney is the largest of the market towns in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, and much of the architecture reflects the past prosperity of
the wool trade, including the 17th-century Butter Cross and Church of St Mary the Virgin with its 150-foot spire.

An attractive high street runs from the Butter Cross and features the 18th-century town hall, the Blanket Hall, and the Victorian Corn
Exchange. The town has a bustling atmosphere with many shops, supermarkets, and a twice-weekly market. Annual events include the autumn Witney Carnival and Witney Feast, the nearby Eynsham Carnival,
and the Wychwood Forest Fair.

Cedar Court Care Home is within easy reach of local shops and major road routes such as the A40 to Oxford and London.

  • 63 bedrooms
  • In-house hairdressing salon
  • Home cooked meals to suit all tastes and diets
