Andrew Key is Registered Manager at Liberty Private Care.
I am often asked why start a new care company and the answer is really easy. My Mother In Law lived close to us and had dementia and a series of complex health needs. My wife was coordinating all the appointments, medications etc and it became a full time job which started to affect her health and wellbeing. Care companies were only interested in 'doing the care' and not anything else. That demonstrated that there was a need for someone to provide much, much more than just normal home care. So we brought in our combined 40+ years care and nursing experience and started Liberty Private Care with the ethos of redefining private home care, bridging the gap between care and nursing, focusing on quality services for the client and meeting the need of those cloest to the client who are often neglected and sometimes have additional problems of not living locally or having busy home and professional lives.
Andrew Key is Managing Director and Registered Manager of Liberty Private Care, and has more than 25 years’ experience in the health and social care sector. Following on from working for Bolton NHS Trust Andrew opened a domiciliary care company with Fiona in 1999. He has been an active participant with differing local and national groups, has improved care through: innovation in the administration of medication in the community; care sector training; the implementation of end-of-life standards culminating in receiving the Six Steps End of Life Accreditation from East Lancashire Hospice; and the development of a Night Care and an Integrated Triage and Response Care Team. He was a finalist at the national Great British Care Awards for the category ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care’ and one of his carers won the national final in the category of Carer of the Year.

Amy said ‘Having worked closely with multi disciplinary teams and GP’s I understand the issues people have when they need or have care. One of the biggest problems is around clients accessing the services they need when they need them, and that is exactly what we do, bridging the gap between care and nursing. Going beyond traditional models of care means we can provide an enhanced service to our clients and their family especially when they often have busy lives themselves or live to far away. Its an exciting opportunity to work for a company that wants to actively challenge outdated models focusing on the clients and their needs.’ |
