Meet The Manager

Revathy Jayakumar is Manager at Northcourt Lodge Nursing Home.

I joined this beautiful home in 2007 as a Registered Nurse. Since then, I have been given the opportunity to develop into the Registered Manager where I have remained in post for the past 15 years.

Our commitment to our residents is to deliver high-quality, individual care in a nurturing and engaging environment so that our residents can live happy and truly meaningful lives.

I am passionate in supporting my team to provide outstanding quality care to make a difference and enhance the lives of the individuals, we are privileged to care for.

I understand that choosing a care home for either yourself or a loved one can be a daunting experience which is why our doors are always open inviting you to come and visit us anytime where myself or any one of my team are here to help answer all your questions.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

At Northcourt Lodge, the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of our residents and staff are at the heart of everything we do.

Our dedicated team receives comprehensive induction training, regular refresher training, and ongoing professional development to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to provide safe, high-quality care. This includes training in areas such as safeguarding, infection prevention and control, moving and handling, medication management, first aid, and dementia care. We carry out regular risk assessments, health and safety checks, care plan reviews, and quality audits to continually monitor and improve our standards. We also maintain a clean, welcoming environment and work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure every resident receives the right support for their individual needs.

Through our commitment to staff development, robust safety procedures, and person-centred approach, we provide a secure and caring home where residents and their families can feel confident and reassured.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

There are two communal lounges in the home. One is a large lounge for those who enjoy sitting and chatting or watching television, and the sun lounge is for those who prefer quiet recreation and reading.

There is a separate dining room where we encourage all residents to have their meals together and use this opportunity for socializing but those who prefer having their meals in their rooms are given the choice to do so.

At the rear of the home, there is a spacious garden with ample seating that residents and families enjoy throughout the summer months.

A separate room is allocated for hairdressing and Occupational therapy sessions.  In addition, we employ handymen and gardeners as well as other professionals to keep the home running smoothly for you.

Activities Are So Important

Our in-house activity coordinator Ileana provides stimulating and engaging activities for all our residents. Ileana plays a fundamental part in delivering our mission of enhancing the lives of our residents by creating a fun and varied program for everyone to participate in.

Ileana gets to know our residents well and tailors the activities to the interests and hobbies of the ladies and gentlemen who live with us, enabling them to learn a new skill or revisit old pastimes with her ever-changing programme of events and activities.

Activities vary greatly, they can be anything from arts and crafts, visiting musicians to a visit to the local garden centre.

The activities help to stimulate the mind and are aimed at improving our residents wellbeing in terms of their mind, body and soul whilst keeping the residents happy in between visits from family and friends.

So, while there is inevitably a general and reassuring rhythm to our day, you’ll be encouraged to dance to your own tune.  We’ll help you pursue your interests, use your skills and knowledge, and maintain your relationships.  We’ll celebrate your experiences and achievements, and we’ll support your choices.
