Meet The Manager

Paula Winter is Care Home Manager at Brockwell Court Care Home.

"I'm a registered learning disabilities nurse with a background of working in mental health. I started my career working in a male acute setting, progressing to senior nurse before being offered a role as deputy manager in a learning disabilities residential care home for complex needs.

I quickly progressed to manager and worked hard to establish good relationships with the local authority and families. In my role at Brockwell Court, I use my skills to provide person-centred, quality care, and it's a great opportunity to give something back to the local community.

I live locally and am a mum of 7. I'm looking forward to building relationships with our families and local community to make sure our residents have a fulfilled life with high-quality care."

Paula Winter

Activities Are So Important

Another way we can help our residents feel at home at Brockwell Court is by having them do familiar things. So our dedicated Activities Leaders gently encourage residents to keep doing the things they enjoy. If someone had a hobby or pastime they did before they arrived, we’ll encourage them to continue it with us. Or perhaps they may like to learn something new.

The important thing is that we treat every resident as an individual. If they enjoy sharing time with others, either in our home or on an organised trip out, they’re most welcome. Or, if they prefer quiet time alone, we’ll respect that too.
