Regulator's Rating Good

The skilled team at Bowes House care home provides a wide range of services, from short respite stays through to full-time nursing and residential care, as well as specialist dementia care. The Hailsham home blends old and new, incorporating part of the old Victorian brewery buildings, dating from 1887 into a new-build facility.

The home is divided into suites, each with its own lounge and dining room, creating a 'community within a community'. The en-suite bedrooms have a flat-screen TV and 24-hour nurse call system. Ground-floor bedrooms open directly onto patios in the courtyard or garden. Outside, there are herbal, sensory and butterfly gardens, with plenty of seating to relax and spend time with friends and family on warmer days.

Activities Are So Important

We believe in supporting every resident to enjoy a meaningful lifestyle - encouraging them to do whatever brings them meaning and joy.

Our lifestyle team plans daily group and one-to-one activities designed around residents’ interests and hobbies.

We appreciate that some people may prefer more tailored time rather than group activities, so there's always time to do whatever activity your loved one would like with them on a one-to-one basis with one of our lifestyle team, from a pamper session to a stroll in the garden, reminiscence or a shopping trip.

When it comes to activities the sky is the limit! Our home has a different and ever-changing programme of activities including pub quizzes, afternoon teas, wine and cheese evenings, themed days, fundraising and even intergenerational activities!
