Fun & Companionship at our Residential Care Home, Birmingham
Bourn View Care Home in Bournville opened in June 2017. It is one of the finest in our portfolio of private care homes across the Midlands. Avery is proud to be associated with the Bournville Village Trust’s care community for the elderly.
The home itself enjoys an elevated position overlooking a waterfall, stream and the Bournville Village itself. The sleek design of the building, with its stunning central curved roof, is striking and distinctive. The incorporation of floor-to-ceiling windows, together with doors that open out to the grounds, makes it light and sunny and very connected with the landscape.
Each floor at our stunning care home in Birmingham features a beautiful atrium, where there is a bistro and bar where residents, friends and families are encouraged to gather. There are four dining rooms and four intimate lounges, all furnished in a contemporary style with splashes of bold colour. The dining rooms lead out on to terraces, ideal spots for a relaxing aperitif before dinner or watching the world go by.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Bourn View Care Home acclaimed residents well-being programme is designed to keep all of us engaged and active. There is something for everyone at Bourn View, we believe that playing an active role in our local Bournville community is critical to the health of our community. Many of our residents enjoy strong affiliations with local groups and we are only too happy to support and nurture these connections. Encouraged by our Well-being coordinators, our residents like to play a full part in the life of Bourn View retirement home. They proved keen to enter the Avery in Bloom competition this year, had a trip out to the garden centre to buy plants and have high hopes that their green fingered expertise will meet with recognition. Driving Miss Daisy has been a favourite of the cinema showings, along with Mamma Mia and Grease. If the cinema seats prove too comfy, residents can show their moves in the daily Morning Moves keep fit sessions and I’m sure that the reminiscences sessions with vinyls on the record player, get them swaying along. We have our own minibus to take residents out on trips far and wide from our care home in Bournville. The world does not necessarily get smaller with age! Just think of somewhere you’d like to visit, and off we go. |
