Meet The Manager

Sylwia Indycka is Manager at Birtley House Nursing Home.

Sylwia has a full Nursing background as well as previous care home management experience. A proud member of the Birtley team since July 2018, she joined us during a period of business innovation and change and has inspired and led her team to success in various ways.

Sylwia is a positive character with various dimensions to her leadership, she goes the extra mile to always make sure our Residents are getting the most out of life and experiencing new things, whilst teaching her team to do the same. She has also written a book on end-of-life care following her own personal experience of caring for a close family member.

A family-run business and professional care service provider since 1932, Birtley House is a 47 resident capacity private nursing home based in Bramley, Surrey. Set within 48 acres of beautiful Surrey Hills countryside, Birtley boasts an array of unique and beautiful gardens, as well as various wildlife.

We are both a residential and nursing home, with nurses available 24 hours for residents. 

Please note: Unfortunately Birtley House Nursing Home is unable to support PEG feeding requirements.

Description

Traditional Nursing Home rooms are available on a rental basis for stays from as little as two weeks. Our rooms are categorised into ratings of Standard, Premium and Deluxe. These ratings are determined by the size of the room and the views that look out over our stunning 48-acre estate. Nearly all of our rooms have an ensuite W.C. and basin, and a handful have an ensuite wet-room.

Activities Are So Important

No day is the same at Birtley House for our much-loved residents. Activities organised by the Lifestyle and Wellbeing Team, range from talks by guest speakers, musical afternoons, arts and crafts, armchair yoga, cookery, word games and quizzes to the celebration of anniversaries and dates of special interest and significance.

Occasionally, residents and staff have given talks or demonstrations themselves, if they have had a particular interest or hobby which they wished to share with others.
