Hannah Riley is Home Manager at Belvedere Manor Care Home.
Hi, I’m Hannah, the General Manager here at Belvedere Manor.
I’ve worked in social care for over 13 years, starting my career as a Care Assistant before progressing to Assistant Manager at Eden Manor, and now stepping proudly into my current role at Belvedere.
I’m incredibly passionate about what I do and always strive for excellence — creating a homely, safe, and welcoming environment where our residents feel truly cared for. The wellbeing and happiness of our residents are at the heart of everything I do, and my goal every day is to provide high-quality care and make a positive difference in the lives of those we support.
Belvedere Manor provides residential, dementia and short-stay care for up to 84 residents in a modern, purpose-built home on the outskirts of Colne.
Designed with accessibility in mind, the home features wide corridors, a lift to all floors, and spacious en-suite bedrooms. It is well connected, with a bus stop five minutes away and the local train station within a 10-minute walk. Residents also benefit from views of the surrounding countryside and proximity to places like Pendle Hill and Alkincoats Park.
The landscaped gardens include patio areas, raised beds and seasonal decorations chosen by residents. A nature-inspired quiet zone on the top floor provides a peaceful indoor retreat. Inside, the home includes a café, hair salon and multiple lounges, including a mezzanine lounge that overlooks the central areas.
Dining is sociable and tailored to residents’ tastes, with daily freshly prepared meals, Fish and Chip Fridays, Sunday roasts and regular themed events. The popular “Belvedere Bake Off” brings residents, families and staff together in friendly competition.
Activities include music therapy, art workshops, poetry readings, minibus outings and seasonal fairs. The home’s long-serving staff and lively programme of events help create a sense of belonging and celebration.
At Belvedere Manor, care isn’t just about support, it’s about creating a community where residents thrive. Whether you’re searching for yourself or a loved one, for residential, dementia or short-stay care, the team at Belvedere Manor are here to help.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. | Activities Are So Important |
|---|
|
Our two passionate Activity Coordinators keep our residents active and entertained with a fun-packed calendar. We focus on enabling personal fulfillment for each individual and supporting each person’s choices, interests, and hobbies. Activities include gardening club, our new choir, arts and crafts, bingo, quizzes, church services, and personal support from our Chaplain who is employed at Belvedere Manor. We regularly invite external entertainers into our home. We like to keep it varied and have recently enjoyed concert bands, accordionists, singers, saxophonists, and a play performed by the local college. 'Elvis' has visited and Wild Bill is a regular resident favourite getting residents up and dancing. We have our own minibus and regularly go out on trips to the seaside, museums, the theatre, for a drink at a local pub, out for lunch, shopping, or to the lights at Blackpool. We also join the weekly dementia café at Nelson Library. Our residents let us know what they want to do, and we do our best to make it happen for them. And we love any excuse to put on a themed event. |
