What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe | ||
---|---|---|
We have optimum staffing levels in line with dependency needs of our residents. We have key pads on lifts, stairwells and main entrance. All our rooms are fitted with call bells. Room and chair sensors are available for those residents who are at high risk of falls. We have comprehensive risk assessments and specialist equipment as needed. We ensure that each resident has a personalised care plan and monthly risk assessments are carried out as a minimum. All our staff are fully trained. We have designated health and safety, safeguarding, fire safety and infection control leads. We liaise with external professionals to ensure residents needs are met. Our staff are provided with uniforms and have access to PPE. |

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Description |

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. We have a mix of rooms, including some with a full en suite wet room and others with an en suite toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views, and there’s WiFi throughout the home. We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
We’ve a schedule of optional events and activities which we change weekly, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. Along with pet therapy visits, there’s a men’s club, a pool table, gardening, art and crafts, baking, bingo, and church services. We also have a dedicated chaplain and offer music therapy for our residents living with dementia. With regular trips out, and visits from local school and nursery children, there’s never a dull moment at Reuben Manor. Our approach to care is a truly holistic one, always with the aim of nurturing your loved one’s mind, body and spirit. This comes as part of our promise to you and our residents, to help them to genuinely live a better, more fulfilled life. It’s about respecting their individual needs, listening and understanding, presenting them with opportunities and daily activities to keep their minds and bodies active. Whether they flourish in a lively group activity or prefer to re-charge in the peaceful surroundings of one of our quiet spaces, our home is brimming with inspiration and potential. We support everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies and our passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained. They provide a fun-packed and stimulating schedule for people to participate in as they choose. There’s baking, art and crafts, gardening, bingo and quizzes just to mention a few of the things we get up to. We also provide regular gentle exercise sessions and have close links with GP surgeries, district nurses and dentists; and our in-house hair salon keeps everyone looking their best. Gentle armchair exercises and regular visits from our local dentist, gym instructor, optician and chiropodist will help to keep your loved one physically active. Uplifting visits from local school and nursery children, as well as pet therapy animals, keep us all young at heart. We’re committed to helping residents make the most of every single day. Seize The Day is our unique initiative to support residents to fulfil their ambitions and make dreams come true. Whether it be a ride on ‘The Big One’ at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a trip in a fire engine, or a visit to the swimming pool; we will move mountains to make it happen. Seize the Day is funded by charitable donations and available to all residents. Funded entirely by charitable donations, these award-winning weekly sessions are led by our highly-trained therapists and can have an incredibly powerful and positive impact on a person’s wellbeing. At Reuben Manor, our music therapists interact with residents through singalongs, playing simple percussion instruments and responding to musical cues in either a one-to-one or group setting. These sessions often prove to be truly life-enhancing, helping people to unlock special memories and express their feelings and emotions. |
