| Activities Are So Important |
|---|
|
Relaxed and unforced, a rich and varied programme of activities, aimed at stimulating both mind and body, offers residents the opportunity to stay active and entertained, whilst building new friendships or simply having fun! Amongst the regular activities on offer are film and documentary screenings, live entertainment, and ‘knit and natter’ afternoons. Flower arranging, art classes, and board games are also popular; whilst baking, gardening and craft sessions are a chance to be ‘hands on’ and get really involved. But whether residents choose to indulge in all the activities on offer or none at all, everyone feels part of an indefinable sense of ‘community’ – one that exists where no-one is excluded, and a helping hand or friendly face is never far away. There are visits to places of interest or trips to cafés for afternoon tea, and we often welcome local community groups to join us in our beautiful grounds for annual events such as Bonfire Night, a Christmas fair, or charity luncheons on the lawn. During seasonal highlights, or landmark occasions such as a royal wedding, Geoghegan family members are often to be found joining staff, residents and visitors alike in celebration. Both residents and their relatives come to appreciate those ‘extra touches’ that typify the desire to provide a nurturing and fulfilling environment for all, and are part of what makes life at The Old Rectory so special. |
