Chris Durnan is Home Manager at Ash Tree House.
Chris started working in care when he was just 16 and has progressed in his career since then. His heart lies in working with the elderly and he has devised and piloted many schemes and packages to assist older people to live as independently as possible.
Chris joined the Ash Tree House family in 2018 and has already made many great improvements including the addition of a market square with a shop, cafe area, post office, flower stall and snack station for residents to enjoy. He has a wealth of experience to bring to the home and is open to ideas, suggestions and feedback from residents, families and staff alike. Chris operates an open door policy and is always available for a cuppa and a chat.
Chris has three children and follows Leeds United FC in his spare time.
Ash Tree House in Hindley has everything that you would expect from a care home and more. With a cosy atmosphere and attractive decor, along with landscaped and freely accessible garden areas. All 60 bedrooms at Ash Tree House Care Home are en-suite, which enable our carers to deliver dignified and person-centred care. We aim to promote independence among our residents, and our facilities allow us to do so.
Ash Tree House is proud to have achieved 'Outstanding' in the area of 'Responsive' in the May 2019 Care Quality Commission report, and is rated as 'Good' overall.

Ash Tree House’s Regional Activities Executive makes sure we have a variety of entertainment and pursuits for you to take part in. We regularly have a larger themed party or event which friend and family are invited to join in, and there are plenty of exciting trips to enjoy. Ash Tree House is an important part of the local community in Wigan and we often have visitors to the home to deliver talks or perform. |
