Louise Godwin
Louise Godwin
Maple Lodge Manager

My career began in care in 2007 when I started working as a care assistant in nursing. In 2013 I began my journey working as a care assistant for Anchor based at West Hall. I thoroughly enjoyed my career to which I progressed to become a Team Leader in 2014.

I was Team Leader for 4 years when I began my training to progress to be a Lodge Manager. I was promoted to the Acting Lodge Manager when I was then promoted to the Lodge Manager in 2019.

I can’t explain in word how much I have enjoyed being the Lodge Manager for Maple. Maple Lodge residents are brilliant and I just love to see them smile. Their smiles are mainly encouraged by the amazing Maple Team of experienced Team Leaders and the such caring Care Assistants.

Maple specialise around dementia care and promote person centred care. What is important to the individual person and what is in their best interest.

Birch Lodge Manager

My journey in the social care industry started back in 2005 as a care assistant in another Anchor home, Thameside and within two years, I was able to progress into a team leader. This taught me up numerous transferable and managerial skills.

In 2011 I became the deputy manager which helped me to learn a lot about the company and myself. In 2014 I moved to West Hall and became Birch Lodge Manager in 2018.

The aspect that I am most proud of, is being a pivotal part of a team that works so hard to go above and beyond expectation and provide the highest quality of care for our residents. I am happy with the rapport and bond I have developed with the residents these past few years. I have developed a personal relationship with the residents individually and their family members. I am proud to be a part of an establishment that aims to ensure that the latter days of our residents are as peaceful and as pleasant as possible.

Oak Lodge offers an outstanding care, support and development for our own staff, the fact that many of our staff have been with Anchor for many years is testimony to our unerring support for them and to the extent to which they enjoy their work..

To continue to stand out, Oak Lodge has continued meeting and looking for ways to improve the Lodge and facilities offered. This includes improvements with the Lodge-based activities, environment, and to continue to provide outstanding facilities for those living with us.

The Importance Of Meal Times

All the staff in our care home are committed to making mealtimes a sociable and pleasurable part of each day, and with ambient dining areas throughout the home you don’t need to go far at all to enjoy mealtimes at West Hall.

Our highly skilled chefs use seasonal ingredients to create appetising, freshly cooked and nutritionally balanced food with a different choice every day, meaning a delicious care home menu.

Residents are consulted by our chefs on a regular basis to ensure the catering team get to know and understand food preferences, as well as individual nutritional requirements, are able to ensure people with specific dietary needs have the correct foods offered to them and all residents enjoy the meals served.

In our home the food is just one part of the eating experience.

At mealtimes you can choose where and at what time you’d like to eat. You decide whether you’d like to eat in your own room, with others in the shared dining space of your residence or in the bistro in the West Hall Manor House.

We understand the importance of ambience and ensure that our décor helps to stimulate appetitie and creates an enjoyable atmosphere.

We also recognise that mealtimes are a great opportunity for social interaction and involvement. At West Hall visitors are welcome at any time and can join you at mealtimes. Our bistro is a delightful dining experience for everyone, ideal for get-togethers with other residents and guests.
