Meet The Manager

Christine Jennings is Home Manager at The Lawns Care Home.

I love working at The Lawns and have been with Bupa for 27 years. Too often we under estimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around and this is what our team feel about the our residents and families.

Christine Jennings

The Lawns is a welcoming place where choice and individuality are respected. There’s an emphasis on finding the right balance for each person between activity, socialising and relaxation.

Just a couple of miles from the centre of Chelmsford, The Lawns is in a peaceful area surrounded by pleasant homes and lots of green open spaces.

This purpose-built home has attractive gables plus a huge skylight and big windows to let lots of light in. Outside, our well-tended gardens are wheelchair friendly so everyone can enjoy the fresh air.

Description

When a new resident arrives they’ll be met by their key carer, who’ll give them a guided tour of their new home. They’ll also tell them about meal times, activities and introduce them to some of the other residents and members of staff.

When a new resident joins us, we make getting to know them and their relatives a top priority. This helps us to build a picture of how they’d like to be supported day-to-day, so we can create a personalised care plan.

Mealtimes are an important part of daily life in our homes. Our chefs carefully select a different menu for each day of the week, making sure our residents enjoy a variety of our home cooked dishes.
