Meet The Manager

Suzanne Howard is Registered Manager at Coombe House.

Since 1998, Suzanne has led the generational family business at Coombe House, near to Reading and Newbury in Berkshire, caring for 22 residents in a warm, homely setting. Her journey began in her early twenties on night duty, later covering day shifts. She has spent much of her adult life at Coombe House, with her children visiting and playing in the garden — now returning with their own young children to meet the residents.

Today, she leads the home, carrying on the family legacy. Suzanne’s compassionate, forward-thinking leadership promotes independence, privacy, dignity, and choice for residents, while fostering deep team collaboration and meaningful community connections. Her guidance has resulted in Coombe House achieving an Outstanding rating from the CQC, a testament to her excellence in care and management.
