Victoria has a wealth of experience in managing and commissioning care services, for both large healthcare corporations and smaller proprietor-owned homes. With a track-record of favourable Care Quality Commission ratings for the homes she has managed, Victoria shares that: “I would absolutely love to achieve an Outstanding rating! That’s something that I one day hope to tick off my bucket list!”
Attracted by Water Mill House’s family-feel and ethos of “making every day happy and meaningful”, Victoria is looking forward to getting to know our residents and team.
When it comes to delivering exceptional care with love and a deep sense of compassion, the amazing people who form our Water Mill House team, in Hemel Hempstead, are everything.
Here at Water Mill House Care Home, we will care for your precious loved one with the same tenderness and kindness shown to our own family members.
Through a reassuring touch of the hand or a light embrace, we provide comfort and a sense of safety day and night, caring for our cherished residents whilst giving gentle encouragement to build confidence and independence wherever possible.
To us, these things are second nature, assisted by our detailed knowledge of each person we care for and born by an intense desire to help and strong caring values amongst our team members.
The depth of our knowledge goes way beyond our training and awareness of each person’s medical and physical needs. Whilst these are crucial elements to ensure we are able to provide good care, it is our detailed understanding of who each special individual is now, who they were, and what hopes and dreams they have for their future that enables us to provide exceptional care.

At the heart of the wonderful care we provide at Water Mill House is our compassionate team formed of nurses, carers, managers and team leaders and members of our wider support team such as catering, housekeeping, lifestyles and front of house. Led by our amazing home manager Victoria, all of our team members are carefully chosen for their values and unwavering dedication to caring for our residents with tenderness, kindness and respect. Our focus on creating a wonderful home in which to live and work means we are able to retain the very best team members, and ensure we value the contribution they make, each and every day. This in turn helps us to provide consistency for residents and exceptional care, through people who value the same things we do, receive ongoing training, support and recognition and are skilled and confident – understanding each individual resident, who they are and what they need to lead happy and fulfilling lives. This compassionate approach is also extended to people looking for care for a loved one, as well as our residents’ families, helping and supporting them through what can be a very emotional time. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
Our residents’ ongoing health and wellbeing is extremely important to us and we recognise that keeping active, both mentally and physically, whilst maintaining a sense of purpose and meaning are key to individuals’ happiness, contentment and joy. In partnership with our residents and those closest to them, our dedicated lifestyle team develops a varied programme of meaningful activities, events and celebrations which are personalised to individuals’ likes, dislikes, abilities and care needs as well as aspirations and dreams for the future. Our whole team supports our residents to rekindle interests and hobbies, whilst also gently encouraging them to try new things they might enjoy, either as part of a group of friends, on a 1-2-1 basis and in their own room, if they prefer. All of these factors are integrated to ensure that our care home activities are meaningful and engaging for our residents. |
