Finding a new care home shouldn’t be daunting. Spencer House Care Home welcomes you to pop in and meet the Home Manager over a cup of tea in one of our safe visiting rooms or garden area. Our home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side. A Thriving Northampton Nursing Home
Northampton is at the heart of Avery Healthcare – not only are they based here, but they also originated here. The history of the area means that Avery now offers a cluster of well-established care homes in Northampton. Spencer House Care Home has a fantastic relationship with the local community and is situated right behind Northampton General Hospital. We are offering residential, nursing and respite care, as well as more specialist dementia care to residents drawn from across the county.
Our interiors are immaculately presented. “It’s absolutely beautiful” is just one of the glowing reviews from one of the residents. This Northampton nursing home has ample room with comfortable lounges for a café and a cinema. Bedrooms are generously sized and come with en-suite walk-in showers, wall-mounted TVs and 3/4 size beds – it’s nice to have that extra bit of room, isn’t it? And there’s plenty of space for keepsakes and personal belongings.
We encourage friends and relatives to come along to see how well their loved ones are settling into this home from home. Not only does this offer peace of mind for the family, but also keeps connections alive and can assist the staff in making the home experience perfect for the residents. Take a look at our dedicated Facebook page to see what we get up to at Spencer House Care Home. Or feel free to pick up the phone and call our friendly manager to organise a tour of our care home in Northampton.

| What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe | ||

|
Avery Healthcare has always made the health and safety of our residents and staff a priority, and the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to raise our exacting standards to even higher levels. That is why we are taking the innovative step to introduce a cleaning system into our care homes that is already proven to kill 99.9% of viruses, including MRSA, e-Coli, norovirus and the SARS virus (which is similar to Cov-2, which causes Covid-19). |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Situated on the Cliftonville Road, our home is modern, bright and airy with lovely surrounding garden areas which we share with our sister home just across the way. | Activities Are So Important |
|---|
|
Our program of mental and physical activity is designed to ensure that everyone’s well-being is as good as it can be. It helps newer residents to settle quickly and a great many family and friends regularly partake in our activities and social engagements. We also make a point of keeping tabs on whats happening outside our home and events too. We run a handful of interest groups like our gardening club which is very popular. Other residents take an interest in the night sky and discuss the latest football politics. We often venture forth to the pub to catch a game of football on the telly or for those who like to feel the fresh air on their face, we also have a walking club who enjoy nothing more than a short stroll. We encourage friends and relations to be actively involved in everything that goes on too, and even to volunteer to come on trips with us in our mini-bus to sites around Northamptonshire. You will often see us buzzing around local parks. As our sister home is right next door, it’s easy to socialise together and make new friends. We are well connected within the community of Northampton — after all we are a local company. Schools, clubs and speakers are regular guests, and our Facebook pages keep everyone up to speed. We find the internet a useful tool when dealing with people with dementia, as it contains so many resources there — so many stories to provoke memories. |
