Joanna Coughlin is Home Manager at Riverside Place.
I lead my professional Care Team in delivering the highest level of care and support for our residents. My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.
I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives, and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.
I feel that the Aria Care philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.
Set in beautiful landscaped gardens with river frontage onto the banks of the River Lea, this stunning luxury care home provides a pampered lifestyle within reach to enjoy the best in your retirement years. Voted ‘Best New Care Home’ in the prestigious Pinders Healthcare Design Awards in 2019, Riverside will impress at every turn.
With ensuite bedrooms, some of which have their own balconies, to the café, private dining room, cinema room, hair salon and barbers, activities and games room, to the exquisite top floor orangery and bar. Outside the landscaped gardens offers lovely views and spaces to relax and entertain visiting family and friends, or just to watch the birds and wildlife.
The highly trained care team are on hand around the clock to ensure that everyone’s individual needs and preferences are met, whether on a permanent, respite or convalescent care basis, for residential care, dementia care or nursing care.
All this and a daily programme of engaging activities, including trips out to explore the charming Ware town centre, and its priory, gardens, pubs, cafés and museum. Life is a true adventure at Riverside. Just don’t tell Hammy!

Activities Are So Important |
---|
At Riverside Place, each day is full of fun and fulfilling experiences. Your loved one decides how they want to spend their day, and we help to make it happen. We have a dedicated Wellbeing Coordinator whose job it is to plan and organise rewarding and enjoyable activities, outings and entertainment, all based around residents’ interests. So, whether you want to do a gentle exercise class, an art session, you like to get up close to exotic animals, love a competitive quiz or baking up a storm, we’ll make it part of our activities programme. Music and singing are always popular with residents, and we’re forging links with local entertainers – singers, dancers and musicians – who will visit the home to perform for us. School children who want to practice their performing skills are always welcome, and we love seeing volunteers of all ages who would like to help with activities or simply spend time chatting one-to-one with residents. Residents with green fingers can help us to keep the gardens and outdoor spaces looking wonderful. In short, if your loved one has a particular interest, we’ll set up an activity or group – they can even lead it if they wish. We incorporate national events into our activities too. We love any excuse to have a party and decorate the home, whether it’s for Burns Night, a royal wedding or Halloween. |
