Gemma Bristow, Care Manager of Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury, has over 13 years of experience in supporting individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes. Gemma has worked in a variety of roles within the care sector throughout her career to date and has always ensured that everyone in her care receives the highest possible standards of care and support. 

Gemma believes in treating other people as you would wish to be treated yourself  and only recruits carers into her team who have the right fundamental values and who will respect and treat clients as though they are family. She strongly believes in helping clients to maximise their independence - taking them out and about and keeping in touch with local events and maintaining relationships, and ensures that Radfield Home Care plays a strong role in the local community that it serves.

Debbie is responsible for the creation and management of the rotas for clients and carers, liaising with clients, families and professionals to manage care needs and staff deployment and supporting the registered manager with safe running of the office.

Debbie first joined Radfield as a care professional, and impressively has over 35 years of experience in health care. In August 2020, she was promoted to care coordinator and brought to the role a long list of training qualifications including a level 3 NVQ in health and social care.

Jackie, owner and director of Wakefield & Dewsbury holds a wealth of experience in the social and supported housing sector and has cared for a wide range of client needs throughout her career. Jackie has also managed a Sheltered Housing Scheme for a number of years providing independent living, care and support to older residents and this experience has driven her ambition and inspiration to provide an outstanding care and support service to older people in their own homes.

Mandy is the key person supporting our care professionals out in the field. Mandy is responsible for inducting and supporting new staff to understand our processes and complete their care certificate, undertaking regular spot checks and competencies for all staff to ensure the workforce is skilled to meet the needs of our clients.

Mandy has been a part of Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury since its launch in 2018. Originally joining Radfield as a care professional, she has built up a superb range of qualifications and experience.


As Mandy explains: “I have had the opportunity to undertake training in lots of different areas, all of which helps me to provide the most up to date information to our care professionals. This means our clients get the best individualised care possible and that the standards of our care are always monitored.

Megan provides support in the office, working with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth running of the office. Megan will support with a variety of administrative tasks including HR, Recruitment, ensuring that relevant IT software systems are up to date and dealing with queries from carers and clients


“While completing my BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma I worked in a care home on a weekend to gain valuable experience. I was also offered the fantastic opportunity to go and work in Malta in a care home for 6 months as a partnership to the college. I love the variety that my job brings, being able to work in the office, meet the clients and to help them. Knowing that I can make a difference and make someone smile that day - that’s priceless.”
